NA Stage 2 was won by Geekay Esports, but its victory didn’t come easily. Despite topping the regular season without a single loss, Geekay Esports were knocked down to the Lower Bracket Finals after losing 1-3 to Team Liquid in the Regional Playoffs.

Geekay Esports then made a major comeback after defeating NTMR 3-0, eventually claiming a revenge victory against Team Liquid in the Grand Finals, leaving with a narrow 4-3 win.

Over in EMEA, the top six teams that managed to make it through to the Stage 2 Regional Playoffs is exactly identical to Stage 1. Virtus.pro previously won EMEA Stage 1 after defeating Al Qadsiah. However, in Stage 2, the organisation was defeated by Twisted Minds, meaning Al Qadsiah had a chance at redemtion this time around.

Al Qadsiah first defeated Twisted Minds in the Upper Bracket Finals of the Regional Playoffs before facing them again in a rematch during the Grand Finals. But in the end, AL Qadsiah came out on top and won 4-2.

What’s interesting to note is that not every team that originally qualified for the Stage 1 Champions Clash made it to the Midseason Championships. For example, the Champions Clash runners up, Team Falcons, were knocked out of Asia Korea Stage 2 after losing 4-2 to Crazy Raccoon in the Regional Playoffs Quarterfinals.

The OWCS Stage 2 Midseason Championship will take place during EWC from July 31st to August 3rd, 2025. It will begin with a Group Stage in the first two days, where the top two teams from the four groups will advance to the playoffs. In the final two days, the teams will compete in a single elimination bracket for the lion’s share of the $1.05 million (~£830,000) prize pool.

While Crazy Raccoon is anticipated online to take home the win as they did last year, there are some noteworthy contenders this time around. Geekay Esports has demonstrated a strong performance in Stage 2 so far, defeating teams like NTMR and Team Liquid. In other regions such as EMEA, Al Qadsiah have been shown to be in top form.

We may also see a dark horse emerge from the final two spots available. Despite not orignally qualifying through Korea Stage 2, Team Falcons may be offered a chance to come back through the Last Chance Qualifiers if they are invited.

But only time will tell how the OWCS Stage 2 Midseason Championship will go and which team will come out on top.
